Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Istanbul
Arrive at Ataturk airport in
Istanbul and transfer to our hotel. Overnight: Istanbul
Day 2: Istanbul City Tour (B)
Breakfast at hotel and begin full
day sightseeing tour of Istanbul. We’ll visit Topkapi
Palace (harem section is optional), ancient Roman
Hippodrome (center of the chariot races), the
magnificent Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Byzantine
church which was converted to a mosque in 15th century
and we will stop at Grand Covered Bazaar and will have
free time to discover 4000 tiny shops in the passageways
of the world’s largest covered bazaar. Overnight: Istanbul
Day 3: Gallipoli –
Troy- Assos (B, D)
Breakfast at hotel and departure
for Canakkale. En route to Gallipoli, we will visit
World War I battlefields, Anzac Cove, Chunuk Bair, Lone
pine Cemetery and Kabatepe
War
Museum.
Then we will take the ferry across the
Dardanelles
Strait to Canakkale and continue to Troy, Homer’s legendary
city in Iliad and Odyssey.
Overnight: Assos.
Day 4: Assos - Pergamum - Selcuk (B, D)
After breakfast we will drive
through the olive forests and stop by a olive museum,
Then we visit an ethnographical museum in Tahta kuslar
(wooden birds) village. Then continue to
Pergamum, the ancient city of
learning, arts and medicine. We’ll see the ruins of the
magnificent Acropolis, Altar of Zeus,
Temple of Dionysus
and the steepest amphitheater of the ancient world.
After our tour we will continue to Selcuk for overnight.

Day 5: Ephesus & St. Mary’s House

After breakfast begin tour of
glorious Greco-Roman ruins of Ephesus, one of the best
preserved classical city of the Eastern Mediterranean
dated back to 2000 years. Later we will drive to the
hilltop where we visit the miraculously discovered
Virgin Mary’s House; our tour ends with a visit to a
traditional village
of Sirince
famous with its local fruit wine.
Return hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight: Selcuk
Day 6: Aphrodisias –
Hierapolis- Pamukkale (B, D)
Today we will drive through the
valleys to Pamukkale, ancient spa center and the unique
natural site of white limestone terraces cascading down
the mountain slope. On the way we’ll visit the ruins of
ancient city Aphrodisias. Then we will visit the ‘Sacred
City’
Hierapolis; it
is a World Heritage Site.
In
the evening you will have time to relax and experience
the thermal pool of our hotel. Overnight: Pamukkale
Day 7 : Patara – Saklikent –
Kalkan (B,
D)
Morning drive to
Saklikent
Canyon.
Afternoon we’ll visit Patara’s Roman ruins and will have
free time at the beach. Drive along the unique
Mediterranean coast line to Kalkan for overnight.
Day 8 : Myra – Finike – Antalya (B, D)
Morning drive to Myra to visit the home
church of St. Nicholas
(the authentic and original Santa Claus). A short stop
in Finike and early afternoon arrival to
Antalya. Free time to discover
the old town harbor.
Overnight: Antalya
Day
9: Antalya - Aspendos - Konya- Cappadocia (B, D)
After breakfast we will proceed to
Aspendos, another city in Pamphylia, known for having
the best-preserved theater of antiquity, still used
today for concerts, festivals and grease wrestling
events. Then we will depart to Konya, city where Mevlana Rumi is buried,
founder of the most well-known Sufi order, Mevleviye.
They are also known as the “Whirling Dervishes” due to
their famous practice of whirling ceremony called Sema
which represents a spiritual journey through mind and
love to "Perfect”.
Finally
we’ll arrive to the “moon-like“landscape of
Cappadocia.Optional: Whirling Dervishes
performance in a 13th century Caravan inn.
Overnight: Cappadocia
Day 10: Cappadocia (B, D)
After breakfast, we will begin our
Cappadocia tour. First we will visit the
Byzantine frescoed chapels at Goreme then continue to
Ozkonak, the eight-story underground city, and a local
pottery making village, Avanos. Overnight: Cappadocia.
Day 11: Ankara – Istanbul
– Return (B)
Early morning
drive to Ankara, afternoon tour of the Ataturk Mausoleum and Anatolian
Civilizations
Museum
then transfer to airport for your onward flight.
