 Karen and I want to formally express our appreciation for your patience, hard work and expertise in planning our latest tour with Anatolia of Turkey and Greece.  We also want to thank Lara for initially sparking our interest in visiting your homeland of Turkey.  What an amazing country, so clean and refreshing and inhabited by the most friendly and helpful people.  As for Greece, your planning made it a truly wonderful experience, especially the days spent on Mykonos and Santorini.  We did not think anything could match the tour of Egypt, Jordan and Israel, but this tour was just as wonderful and says volumes about the personal touch that you and Lara bring to Anatolia Travels.

 

We cannot recommend the "Authentic Adventure Tour" of Turkey highly enough.  For those who enjoy a small group, spending their days with the local Turkish people, visiting their shops and drinking local fruit wine and spending their nights in smaller towns in enchanting boutique hotels while still visiting all the historic, cultural and religious sites of Turkey, this is the tour for you.  We loved the food and the ambiance of the historic boutique hotels, some of which served dinner right on the waterfront.  Turkey holds so much history and so many sights that are totally unique and found nowhere else in the world. Pamukkale was breathtaking, and Cappadocia with its cave hotels, fairy chimneys and underground cities was magical. 

 

We loved our small group of six and had a fantastic guide in Ensar Islamoglu and an excellent driver in Yuksel Topal.  Ensar was intelligent, knowledgeable about the history and mythology of Turkey and extremely entertaining with his unique stories and little known facts.  Yuksel was on a par with our driver in Jordan, one of the best we have had.  We always felt safe with Yuksel at the wheel.

 

Greece is a perfect companion to the Turkey tour complete with its own unique history, the Acropolis, the Aegean and Ionian Seas and the islands.  Ending a three week tour with relaxing visits to Mykonos and Santorini was ideal.  The hotels could not have been better, even with all the steps.  Your choice on Santorini, right on the cliffs overlooking the Caldera was superb.  And the sunsets were unbelievable, the pictures do not do them justice.

 

In closing, we can only say that Anatolia has done it again, providing us with another amazing and memorable adventure.  We will continue to recommend you highly.  We have attached a few photos and hope you enjoy them.

Dear Anatolia,

The Egypt Rail Journey Tour (9-Day) experience was everything we had hoped for and more. This was a family dream vacation that finally came true for us. Our reluctance, as Americans to the Middle East has always been our concern for our personal safety, especially with our kids in tow. Not knowing the culture and the language only placed additional barriers.

All fears were put aside as soon as we arrived at the terminal at Cairo Airport. We had a friendly (and funny) person take us through customs and then hand us over to an awaiting luxurious air conditioned van with a helpful driver, a tour manager and tour leader! These guys were so accommodating and knowledgeable. To say they were first rate is an understatement, because you’d never find the quality of tour guides anywhere in the States! They were well versed in the English language besides other languages! We felt like royalty from the time we arrived in country and the time we departed. Whenever the agenda called for a tour, trip, a site, etc., they were always there to ensure we would not be left to guessing. We never had to wait for them. If we wanted to make a side trip going to and from…they made sure we went to the “right” places. You can’t imagine how important this little detail made our stay in Egypt so much more enjoyable and fun.

The advice and recommendations we had asked for, these guys delivered. We never felt we were being led strayed or taken advantage of. In fact, we were able to avoid potential pitfalls because of their caring attitude.

Looking back and reflecting on the whole experience, we did not place a lot of emphasis on the quality of tours guides/company per se. Other factors like costs, sites to see, places to stay, etc. was our primary motivation. We realize now that the tour guides can make or break the entire event. Without a doubt, we feel very fortunate that we had selected Anatolia Tours. One final note, we did enjoy the luxurious hotel stays, the sleeper train experience, the cruise ship and all of its amenities along with the magnificent views of the shoreline, and the unbelievable historical sites. It truly was a Wonder of the World experience that we will reminisce for a life-time!

Hello Lara,

Our trip to Turkey was absolutely AMAZING and went off without a hitch thanks to your amazing planning skills! Everything about Turkey was fabulous: the people, the food, the culture...everything! We had almost all perfect weather and even when we did get rain, it was still warm. The sailing was so relaxing and 3 days was the perfect amount, just enough time to relax but not enough time to go stir crazy. We loved Cappadocia and I am so glad that you were able to work that into the itinerary. You made us the most perfect itinerary ever and our tour guides kept asking us how we had such a good trip planned and I of course kept raving about you and how I managed to find the best travel planner ever. Mustafa the guide saying that I should count myself lucky to find a Turkish agent in Canada to plan our trip for us ;)

I must say that you are lucky to come from such an amazing country, we had the best time ever. Tonight we were trying to recreate some of the food that we had in Turkey and it makes me miss the place already: green beans in tomato and sea bass!
